This page explains how the app Earbud Checker (Japanese name: イヤホンまるごとチェッカー; iOS and Android; the "App") provided by 3810 PRODUCTION ("we") handles user information.
1About the App
- The App checks earphones and headphones: left/right, volume balance, phase, latency, audible frequency range, rattle and the mic. It is not a medical device and cannot test your hearing.
- We do not collect personal information directly (no account).
2Use of device features
- Microphone: used to pick up a short click with the phone's own mic when measuring latency, and to record a few seconds with your earphone mic so you can hear it back. Only when you start that test, and only after the OS permission. Recordings stay in a temporary area on the device and are never sent.
- Audio output information: the type (wired, Bluetooth, etc.) and name of the connected earphones are read to show on screen and keep in the on-device history. This name, which may include a name you gave the device, is never sent to us.
3Anonymous sharing of latency results (optional)
Only when you tap "Share anonymously" on a result, the following is sent to our server (earphone.apps.3810.pro on Cloudflare) to build typical latency figures per model. Nothing is sent unless you tap it.
- The earphone model you chose from the list, and the connection type (Bluetooth, wired, USB)
- Phone model (e.g. iPhone17,1, Google Pixel 8), OS version, App version
- Measured values (added latency, measured value, the phone's own delay, spread, rounds, and the output latency reported by iOS) and the date (day only)
- A random number the App gives each result to prevent duplicates
We do not store Bluetooth names, device IDs, advertising IDs, location or IP addresses. If a result cannot be sent (for example, when offline), it is kept on the device temporarily (up to 50 results, 30 days) and sent once a connection is available. You can delete unsent results with "Delete without sending" in the App's settings. Sent results are not linked to any individual, so we cannot delete individual results on request. We may publish aggregated figures (such as the median per model, only when there are enough results) on our website or in the App.
4External services
4-1. Ads (Google AdMob)
The App uses Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) by Google LLC. AdMob may automatically collect and process the IP address and approximate region, device information such as device type and OS version, and ad impressions and interactions, to serve, measure and prevent fraud. Ads appear as banners on the home and results screens, one full-screen ad before Full checkup results, and an ad that unlocks extra features for 24 hours (only when you choose it). No ads appear on screens that play or measure sound. After the one-time purchase, no ads are shown.

4-2. Ad consent (Google User Messaging Platform)
Users in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are shown a consent screen through Google's User Messaging Platform, and ads are served according to their choices. They can change their choices at any time under "Ad privacy settings" in the App's settings.
4-3. Ad personalization and opt-out
The iOS version does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not ask for tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency). On Android, you can delete or reset the advertising ID in the device settings.

4-4. Usage analytics (Google Analytics)
The App uses Google Analytics for Firebase by Google LLC to understand usage and improve features. It may collect app launches, screen names, main actions (whether each test was marked "Looks good" or "Problem", the approximate range of latency values, purchases, ad views, appearance setting), device type, OS version and approximate region.
- Recordings, measurement sounds and output device names are never sent.
- Google Analytics is not used for users in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland.
- This information is not used to identify individuals.
4-5. Interaction analytics (Microsoft Clarity)
The App uses Microsoft Clarity (Clarity Mobile SDK) by Microsoft Corporation to improve usability and investigate problems. It may collect screen views, taps and scrolls, session replays, crash and diagnostic information, device type, OS version and approximate region.
- Recording is paused on screens that play or measure sound.
- Microsoft Clarity is not used for users in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland.

4-6. Purchases (App Store, Google Play)
The one-time purchase and restore go through Apple's App Store or Google Play. We never receive payment information.
4-7. Text-to-speech
The "Left" and "Right" voices in the left/right test are made with the device's text-to-speech. The words are fixed and contain no user information.
5Information stored on the device
- Measurement history (output name, connection type, latency, date and time), Full checkup results, the phone's own delay (baseline), appearance and guide settings, purchase and 24-hour unlock status, and results waiting to be shared are stored only on the device.
- The result card image is passed, only when you choose to export it, to the destination you pick through the OS share sheet.
- Deleting the App removes this information from the device.
6Sharing with third parties
Except as needed for ads (Google), usage analytics (Google Analytics), interaction analytics (Microsoft Clarity) and storing shared results (Cloudflare), we do not provide or sell user information to third parties without consent, unless required by law.
7Retention and deletion
- On-device data is removed when you delete the App.
- Anonymously shared results are kept on our server for aggregation.
- Information collected by Google and Microsoft is retained and deleted under their own policies.
8International transfers
Information related to ads, analytics and shared results may be processed on servers of Google, Microsoft and Cloudflare, including outside Japan.
9Children
The App is not directed primarily at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
